What to expect when you book a serviced apartment

Here’s what to expect when you book a serviced apartment with Nest Apartments because booking a serviced apartment is a little different to booking a hotel.

In both cases you can book online but with a serviced apartment, the operator will often do business at arm’s length. And Nest Apartments is no exception.

The principle of running a serviced apartments business from a distance has been established a long time; well before the COVID-19 pandemic started and so the industry has found it very easy to adapt to the needs of operating with no face-to-face contact.

Here, we will explain how using a serviced apartment is a simple and easy process.

Finding your Serviced Apartment

Finding a serviced apartment is very simple. A quick search, like “serviced apartments in <insert town>” will reveal many providers.

Of course if you’re staying in Sheffield or Hinckley, you can find all of our apartments here.

Booking your Serviced Apartment

Booking via third party websites like Airbnb tend to give our first time guests extra peace of mind however, once they have stayed, guests are very happy to book again directly with us.

Whichever way you have booked, you will receive a confirmation via email.

The Online Check-In

A few days before your arrival, we will ask you to check-in online. If you have come via a third party website, then you will have already submitted some of this information, such as payment details, meaning you will not have to enter it again.

The full online check-in asks for:

  • Confirmation of the identity of each adult (photo ID will be required)
  • Your payment
  • Security deposit
  • Acceptance of our terms and conditions
  • Your e-signature

It looks like a lot to do but as long as you have your ID (and credit card, if needed) it takes less than 5 minutes to complete.

Once your online check-in is completed, the only thing that’s left is to wait for your arrival email.

Sometimes we get asked “When do I get my deposit back?”

At Nest Apartments, we do not technically take your deposit money; instead the funds are ring-fenced in your account. This means that you will see an adjustment to your “Available Funds” rather than your bank balance.

The money is released back to you a few days after you check-out. This short delay allows us to complete the final checks on the property.

The Online Guestbook

The last message you will get from us is the Arrival e-mail. In it you will find a link to your online Guestbook.

The Guestbook is packed with information relevant to your property, such as:

  • travel directions
  • parking arrangements
  • key safe codes
  • instructions for the heating
  • instructions for some of the appliances
  • the all-important wifi codes.

See you soon

And that’s it. All that’s left is for you to do is turn up and enjoy your stay.
